Anne Beresford and Margaret Williams have been involved in educational projects since they started the company. MJW are currently in production on BIG DANCE FILMS. This is a series of 5 films for use in upper primary and secondary dance education as part of BIG DANCE, the ultimate dance experience. Leading choreographers Wayne McGregor, Shobana Jeyasingh, Kate Prince, Arlene Phillips and Hofesh Shechter help students and teachers develop a ‘choreographic toolbox’ for dance making and performing. BIG DANCE FILMS encompass a range of dance and music styles from Hip Hop to Contemporary and beyond. In association with Big Dance, Arts Council England and Music Sales. To be released in 2012.
MJW are also delighted to be working with Wayne McGregor on the 2012 Big Dance Schools Pledge.
MJW’s earlier films CROSS CHANNEL and FLESH AND BLOOD have both been used as set works at GCSE and A Level dance in the UK, and continue to be used as valued resources in the teaching of screen-dance.
