Anne Beresford and Margaret Williams have been involved
in educational projects since they started the company. They have both
taught and lectured at colleges and given workshops, particularly in
the area of dance on screen and music for television. A full list of
Margaret's educational credits follow below.
The films CROSS CHANNEL and FLESH AND BLOOD have both been used as set
works at GCSE and A Level dance in the UK, and continue to be used as
valued resources in the teaching of screen-dance.
CROSS CHANNEL is a 27 minute dance film, created especially for the
camera. Directed by Margaret Williams and choreographed by Lea Anderson,
it is performed by the all-female Cholmondeleys and the all-male Featherstonehaughs.
According to the Financial Times, CROSS CHANNEL is 'one of the best
television dance programmes I have ever seen. Everything works.' The
Observer called it ‘drop-dead Chanel-chic.'
FLESH AND BLOOD is a radical re-work of Lea Anderson's stage piece for
The Cholmondeleys. The film is followed by an interview with Lea Anderson
in which she talks about the inspirations behind the piece. Dutch painter
Hieronymous Bosch's dark and iconographic paintings and M.C. Escher's
cryptic puzzle drawings are among the influences for FLESH AND BLOOD.
Duration:17 minutes.
Lea Anderson and Margaret Williams have collaborated on several other
films together. Information on their other productions can be found
in DANCE.
