S Y N O P S I S :

An old man dancing alone, his dream girl who comes and goes. The son-in-law who can't sit still with his hammer-wielding wife, and the grand-children who know the true meaning of 'the ties that bind'.
 
A day in the life of the family next door...
 
LOUNGE was created by choreographer / director Miranda Pennell for the Arts Council of England. It features dancer Gaby Agis, performer Barnaby Stone and ballroom and latin dance champions Des and Eileen McIntyre. LOUNGE has a specially-commissioned score by Aleksander Kolkowsi and Ian Hill.
 
LOUNGE won the Short Film Award at Video Danse, Paris, the 1996 Cinewomen Award and the L'Etrange Short Film Festival, Paris 1997. It has been transmitted on Channel Four in the UK, Canal Plus in France and many other television channels around the world. It has also been shown at numerous international film festivals including the 1996 London Film Festival, the ICA Biennial, and the 1999 Cannes Film Festival.
